I always thought it was a beautiful word, despite it???s actually meaning.
Everyone enters that state of mind, and know it to be a familiar feeling. Personally for some reason summer is the season when my mind likes to go down those types of routes. I???ve noticed in the past I???m a lot more reflective and sensitive during this time of year. I tend to forget my accomplishments I have made from this point last year, and I forget there are people out there who genuinely support and love me. My mind just turns a blind eye, when ironically, summer is the season when people are more joyous, more adventurous, more excited about life in general.
I just fall into a state of melancholy, and my mind starts going to town projecting all those ???what ifs???, ???what could have been???, and ???little regrets??? like its a movie marathon. At that point you kind of just want to lie around in something warm and mull over your thoughts. It’s not healthy, but it happens.
That???s the kind of feeling I went for these illustrations. When it becomes a literal mind over matter kind of game, and you can???t help but be lost in your thoughts. Everything is still around you but you mind and emotions are going 120 km/hr in a residential area. It???s also a lonely time, you get so lost within yourself that you forget to reach out, but it passes, and you get stronger. You learn that there are people to support you, and you even learn how to take care of yourself and manage your emotions. Time may know how to screw you over, but it???s also one heck of a medicine.

I also subscribed to a monthly art box called Art Snacks (https://www.artsnacks.co/) and it???s only now that I???m getting around to using these new supplies. It???s basically every month they send a box of art supplies my way all based around a theme. Though it???s been a while now that I got it, that I don???t remember the details, but I used the supplies from the April box!
It included a Caran d???Ache Luminance Colored Pencil, a Zebra Zensations Double Ended Brush Pen, an Ironlak Pump Action Paint Marker, and a Pental Orenz 1-click Mechanical Pencil.
I didn???t feel that I explored the products too much, but the paint marker was a blast to use, especially if you have the right kind of paper, overall it???s a fun concept. Though I???m partial to the color. I didn???t think too much of the colored pencil, it compliments the shade of the paint marker, and physical shape wise it is quite a beautiful pencil. Though nothing stood out too much for me, but then again I probably didn???t explore enough with it. Bringing it back to the brush pen, I just have to say that I really appreciate it. It gets the fine details, and also allows for charm of a usual brush pen. It???s a handy tool, and I definitely see myself using it more often.
That???s all for the time being, and hopefully I can pump out more of these prompt illustrations, because no one wants this to be done and over with more than me.
Until next time!
