I honestly didn’t know what a sailor fuku was, I thought it had something to do with being a type of sailor. Boy, was I far off. It was actually something I have seen plenty of times through art and anime shows, I just never knew the correct term for them.
For those who don’t entirely know, sailor fukus are military styled naval uniforms that are commonly worn by middle school and high school girls in Japan. The alteration of the uniform will depend on where you live in the country, but the base design is a blouse with a sailor-style collar and pleated skirt.
This prompt was quite fun to do, mainly because I have always liked the designs of Japanese uniforms since I was a??child. The designs were a whole lot cuter than the clothes I saw in my middle school, think a whole lot of teenagers still trying to find themselves and their style. A wild ride. So when I saw these types of uniforms when I was younger I was extremely jealous. But there probably are some cons to wear uniforms, but I won’t get into that now, this ain’t that kind of blog post.
I have drawn these uniforms before in random doodles and sketches but it’s been awhile since I have been able to sit down and look at the details of how they are designed. This way you can really appreciate the small difference from uniform to uniform despite them all being considered a sailor fuku.
This prompt really takes me back… But that’s all for now!
Next prompt is!

Until next time!
