There Are No Words

I’m going to stop numbering these prompts in the meantime because this entire thing has lost its order and too much work went into organizing it before I started so it’ll be what it is now. (Call me lazy, I’m fully aware)

When you’re among good friends and people you know you can be yourself around you no longer feel the need to fill the silence. Just being around each other becomes enough for you.

Before I didn’t really understand the concept, because I always thought if you’re going to take the time to be around someone you should probably talk or do an activity together to make the experience worth your while. But as I got older I realized I just want to hang out with people because I just wanted to be around them. It didn’t matter to me what we did I just needed their presence in my life at that moment. And I find that to be such a wholesome connection. For myself personally, a lot of time and effort needs to be put into any type of relationship I build before I become that comfortable with someone. So to be able to sit in a room with people and not talk but instead, appreciate being in each other’s company is a complete sign of trust and comfortability. You don’t have to put up an act, you don’t have to entertain each other, you can just allow yourself to relax and enjoy the silence.

People like that, you really have to treasure them because moments like those can be rare to come by.

Until next time!
